From Imagination to Innovation
WELCOME TO
TEXAS
DESTINATION IMAGINATION
We inspire young people to imagine and innovate today so they become the creative and collaborative leaders of tomorrow.
As parents and educators, our most important goal is to prepare our kids for the future. In Destination Imagination (DI), students work together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges designed to teach the creative process. Why is that important?
The creative process is a step-by-step approach that helps students better understand problems and ask better questions, come up with solutions, learn from failure, and celebrate their achievements.
In going through this process, kids learn vital life and career skills—creative thinking, critical thinking, public speaking, and collaborative problem-solving—that help them feel empowered and set them up for success in their future.
Our Mission
The mission of Texas Destination Imagination is to encourage and foster the development of 21st-century skills: creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration; to influence the development of a positive self-image, and to prepare the students of Texas to apply problem-solving skills to life decisions.
Texas Destination Imagination is a problem-solving educational organization that strives to promote creativity in the young people of Texas – reaching more than 19,000 students a year. “DI” is an extraordinary non-profit organization that provides educational programs for students to learn and experience creativity, and teamwork and more than 100,000 students across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. The DI core program is educationally based in which student teams solve open-ended Challenges through the use of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and fine arts. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work together, and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the Challenges.
